About the department

The Department of Emergency Medicine staffs the Emergency Department of Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, which serves as the medical school's primary teaching affiliate. Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital is a 580-bed, Level One trauma center that treats more than 60,000 adults each year. All of our physicians are board certified or board eligible, with more than 90 percent being board certified by the American Board of Emergency Medicine. In addition to the physician staff, our physician assistants help provide quality care to our patients.
